ICC Volunteer Profile: Rebecca Murray, Volunteer Coordinator, Promotions

Rebecca Murray has been an Interfaith Counselling Centre board member since 2016. She coordinates ICC’s volunteers and oversees our promotions.

Rebecca says she was initially motivated to join ICC for “selfish reasons”.

“I was new to Wilmot, saw that ICC was seeking board members, so I thought it would be an excellent opportunity to meet people and get to know the community better. After reading more and learning about ICC from other board members, I became even more convinced that this was an organization I wanted to support with my time and talents.”

She adds, “The important role that ICC plays in the community and the ever-increasing need for the services it provides have been a real impetus for me to stay on the board beyond the usual term. In rural townships, especially ones like Wilmot that are so widespread, the distance and isolation make it even more imperative for ICC to continue its excellent work in serving the community.”

Encouraging other people in our community to get on board, Rebecca says that ICC is warm and welcoming and provides guidance for those who have never served on a board before. “There are educational and recreational opportunities for anyone who wishes to join.”

“Working on the board with the incredible individuals who have such diverse personalities and expertise has benefited me in many more ways than I have given back.”
